Talking How to Successfully SS with AoE Nerf!

So I know alot of peope have been having trouble wiht using SS b/c of the aggro issue and the AoE problem. Well, I think I've found a way to satify the SSers out there and to make it still work to a great advantage!

Don't use SS on Warriors/Assasins. Use it on Casters/Rangers Only. Preferably a monk if possible. Casters thanks to the AI being "smarter" attack alot more often now, using skills and basic attacks. Almost as frequently as Warriors. Surprisingly enough if your tankin the group aggros the casters/Rangers then the enemy warriors folow close behind and end up taking the SS damage. The warriors seem to run away for abotu a second, bu then are right back on top, taking a good chunk of damage off the health meter. I've actually found SS to be even more deadly in this way on the enemies and will kill quicker as well. With the casters doing alot mroe dirty work, they're hindering themselves, which is nice!

Also, if there's a boss of ANY class go ahead and SS the boss ALWAYS! His higher level makes him a perfect target and with atttacks coming more often he generally is he demise of his followers!

This has been working for me well so far and has also made things more useful like "suffering" and "Desecrate Enchantments" - All hitting the targets. "Cry of Frustration" seems ot work even better too in hitting all enemies in the area.

So go ahead, use SS and just attack the casters this time around and you'll be pleasantly surprised!

I find it hard to belive that SS got nerfed at all. I recently did a mission that required you to save some guards from 3 packs of Heket, each holding 10-13 Heket and at times pets. I tried using a MM build and that diddn't work, and I also tried SB spike to no avail either. Trying SS though, I echo'd it on 3 of the axe Hekets and the things diddn't even scatter! They just sat there mindlessly attacking while everyone took out the mages and I had no problems. Sure the guys stop to use Healing Signet, but that's when I use Defile Enchantment.

But back on topic, SS would be wise to put on casters especially with the "AI Buff." Melee classes run when in danger, and as Kyosuke pointed out Casters and Rangers just attack and ignore the hex. Just herd the melee to the casters and you got your SS bomb all over again. Signet of Lost Souls makes spamming SS easier too what with the 8s energy booster when you got a mob of people below 50% health.

Using SS on a boss though, I doubt it'll work because from what I've seen from all the bosses I have fought they have the reduced Hex/condition duration time. This means SS only lasts what 10 seconds on said boss? Sure you can reapply but it's pretty hard to maintain. Only use I can see of it is if the boss is a Dervish or Warrior.

Like OP said, Use SS but put some thought into it.
